Alison Scott (Heigl) has just received a large promotion at work. During a night out she meets up with an irresponsible guy named Ben to have a one night stand. Their story should have ended there, but eight weeks later she finds out she's pregnant.

Seth Rogen and Katherine Heigl, while being an almost unimaginable couple, serve perfectly to it's dynamic playing characters from extreme opposites of the spectrum. Rogen is the slacker/stoner type with no job and little money. Heigl is the on her way to success woman who just wanted a night of celebration. Both handle each other extremely well through the ups and downs of this movie.

Paul Rudd is perfect for the supporting actor role in this. He really surprised me as I had thought he wouldn't be able to expand much further than the dynamic of his Anchorman character. Leslie Mann also gave a spot on supporting actress performance stretching beyond what I'm used to see of her.

Without giving too much of the movie away, I was really impressed by how seamlessly it all flowed together. From what I had heard of the reviews, I was expecting a comedy that turned into a drama into it's second or third act. And while the third does increase in it's seriousness to portray it's moral or emotion, it still never loses that lighthearted comedy flame that lies at it's bottom.

Overall, it's a really good movie that I hope a lot of people get a chance to see. It's definitely one of the better comedies of the past few years.

I agree, the characters and story jelled together purposefully. Seth Rogen and Katherine Heigl, both charming, conveyed their range of emotions convincingly, I actually felt their confusion and apprehension. 'Knocked Up' had the right amount of story and character development, I even felt and could relate to a couple of the supporting cast.

'Knocked Up' is one of those films that give you several character perspectives and most films tend to offer a one-sided view. I, being a guy, could see the female perspective and feel their frustration and confusion, it's all human behavior. So kudos to this film for that!

I thoroughly enjoyed this exceedingly funny film and echo Mike's sentiments on Paul Rudd, fantastic job! I too hope everyone experiences it's honest look at how unintentional events can have the most beautiful and satisfying outcomes.

Hilarious! I was crying at some points in the movie because I was laughing so hard.
