For 1960s camp at its best, you can't find a better movie than Bye Bye Birdie. When teen heartthrob Conrad Birdie gets drafted, his songwriter (Dick Van Dyke) organizes a nationwide contest in which one lucky girl will give Birdie a farewell smooch live on "The Ed Sullivan Show." Ann-Margret plays the anointed teen, and her Midwestern town goes gaga when Birdie shows up.
